01Agreement and parties

This agreement is between you and Vastoco Private Limited ("Vastoco"). By registering you accept these terms, the Hackathon Conditions of Participation, the Hackathon Privacy Notice, the Refund and Cancellation Policy and our general Terms and Conditions.

Vastoco Private Limited, CIN U63122UW2026PTC259452, registered office at 38, Lokendra Puri, Gari Bhadauriya, Agra, Uttar Pradesh 282002, India. General contact: info@vastoco.in. Grievances and privacy requests: grievance@vastoco.in.

02A skill-based competition

The hackathon is an educational, skill-based competition. Results are decided only by the judges' assessment of the submissions against the published criteria. It is not a game of chance, a lottery or a wagering activity, and nothing in it depends on luck.

03Eligibility

You must meet the eligibility conditions in the Hackathon Conditions of Participation: at least 18 years old, located in India, and part of one entry only. The person who registers a team confirms that every teammate is eligible and agrees to these terms.

04Registration fee

  • The registration fee is ₹500 for an individual entry and ₹999 for a group of 2–4 members. The group fee is paid once for the entire entry, not per member. The applicable fee is shown before you pay, together with any tax that applies.
  • Payment is processed by Razorpay. Vastoco does not store your full card, UPI or bank details.
  • Refunds and cancellations are covered by the Hackathon Refund and Cancellation Policy.

05Prizes and certificates

  • First prize: ₹45,000.
  • Second prize: ₹5,000.
  • Third place: a Special Mention. There is no cash prize for third place.
  • Every participant: an e-certificate of participation.

A prize is awarded per entry, not per person. The cash prize is paid to the person who registered the team, who is responsible for sharing it with the team. Prizes are paid by bank transfer after the winners are announced, once the winner has given the documents in section 6.

06Tax and documents for prizes

  • Winners must give their PAN, bank account details and any other document we reasonably need before a prize is paid.
  • Tax is deducted at source from a prize where Indian law requires it, and we will give you the tax statement. The amount you receive may therefore be less than the prize amount.
  • Each winner is responsible for their own tax.

07Your work and Vastoco's licence

  • You keep ownership of your submission, including the code, designs and ideas in it.
  • You give Vastoco a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to review and evaluate it, to display your project title, description, link and screenshots on the hackathon results page and in announcements, and to name you and your team as participants or winners.
  • Vastoco will not use your idea, code or design in its products or business without a separate written agreement with you.
  • Only the people who evaluate the hackathon see your submission details beyond what is published.
  • You promise that your submission is your own work, or that you have the right to use everything in it, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

08Results

We publish the Top 10 shortlist and the winners on the hackathon results page. By taking part you agree that your name or team name, project title and college or organisation may be published there if you are shortlisted or win. The judges' decisions on merit are final.

09Cancellation, changes and refunds

  • We may change a date or a detail of the hackathon with notice on the website and by email.
  • If too few people register for the hackathon to run properly, or if we cannot hold it for a reason beyond our control, we may cancel it. In that case you get a full refund.
  • Your refund rights in each case are set out in the Hackathon Refund and Cancellation Policy.

10Liability

The hackathon website and systems are provided as available. Vastoco is not responsible for problems caused by your device, internet connection or accounts, or by events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, or limits your rights as a consumer.

11Changes to this document

We may update this agreement when our services or the law change. The new effective date will be shown at the top. We will give reasonable notice of a material change, and where the law requires your fresh consent we will ask for it. A change does not reduce any right you already have under the law.

12Governing law and disputes

Indian law applies. Please first raise the issue with our Grievance Officer. Disputes that remain unresolved are handled as set out in the complaints and dispute resolution section of our Terms and Conditions: arbitration seated at Agra, Uttar Pradesh for commercial disputes that can be arbitrated, and the courts at Agra for the rest. Nothing in this document stops a consumer from approaching a Consumer Commission or using any other remedy that the law gives.

If you have a complaint about this document, your data or how you were treated on Vastoco, write to our Grievance Officer. You can also use the Grievance Redressal page to see the full process and where to escalate.
